The seventh edition of DStars, an initiative created to celebrate the Italian game development scene, has officially begun! The winners of the fifteen DStars Awards categories have been announced, as voted by over 150 Italian video game developers based both in Italy and abroad.
The Guiding Star Award, assigned by the DStars board, was awarded to Raffaele and Abramo Galante of Digital Bros. Mauro Fanelli, Founder of Memorable Games, received the Industry Star Award, while the Far Star Award went to Elena Montuschi of Don’t Nod. The development studios that stood out the most were Cabo Studio, awarded Best New Studio, and Gamera Interactive, named Studio of the Year. Gamera Interactive also took home the Game of the Year award with Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms.

Tomorrow, March 29, will be dedicated to DStars Connects conferences, streamed on the Everyeye.it Twitch channel, hosted by Alessandro Bruni. The Connects lineup will kick off with a keynote speech by legendary game designer Warren Spector. Following that, there will be talks by Yves Hohler (Broken Arms Games), Ahmed Salama (Ludo Hobo), Michele Pirovano, Serena Ciccarone (Troglobytes Games), Daniele Azara (Stormind Games), Alberto Belli (Gamera Interactive), Francesco Bruschi (3DClouds), Huei Chan (Rapid Eye Movers), Jhonny Coelho, Francesca Baerald (Wizards of the Coast), Anya Combs, Emiliano Pastorelli (Hammer & Ravens), and Paolo Nicoletti (Fix-A-Bug).
