From March 17 to 21, the Game Developers Conference (GDC) took place in San Francisco – the world’s leading business event in the gaming industry. Over the course of five days, tens of thousands of professionals from across the globe gathered at the Moscone Center and several surrounding venues to attend meetings, listen to talks, showcase their projects, and expand their network of contacts.

Excaliber had the pleasure and opportunity to take part in GDC to present several made in Italy video games, renew connections with numerous international partners, and establish new ones. GDC was the perfect occasion to introduce publishers and investors to projects such as Intermundia: Dungeons, Polygons & Magic, an RPG developed by Trinity Team in collaboration with Excaliber itself; The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles, a dungeon-crawler by Fix-A-Bug; The Invisible War, a narrative adventure created by Yonder in partnership with Einaudi; and many other projects and initiatives.

Other Italian game development studios were also present at GDC as part of the national delegation organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. These included: Funny Tales, Digitalmoka, Fix-A-Bug, MAGA Animation, Untold Games, Tiny Bull Studios, AnotheReality, and more. It was a great growth opportunity for the Italian industry, which once again took an active part in a key initiative for the video game sector.
