Excaliber is pleased to share some exciting updates about Indie Assemble: The 123 Stars, the brand-new promotion dedicated to indie video games, which will take place on Steam on 1 – 7 September 2025!
The number of submissions from developers and publishers around the world has been extraordinary: a total of 1234 entries – a figure as surprising as it is symbolic, perfectly in line with the name of the initiative.
Now it is time to select the 123 titles that will take part in The 123 Stars. This task will be entrusted to an outstanding Jury, composed of seven international industry experts selected by Excaliber. Here are their names:
- Alex Beech, Head of Consumer PR & Marketing @ Big Games Machine
- Claire Barilla, Publishing Producer @ Not A Shark, 1TK Games, Yogscast Games
- Cristina Nava, Co-Founder, COO & Executive Producer @ Day 4 Night
- Gero Micciché, Development Director @ Electronic Arts
- Giordano B. Torgianni, Senior Brand Marketing Manager @ HoYoverse
- Inês Ramalho, Business Development Manager @ Xsolla
- Victoria Hugo, Researcher @ Latin American Video Games and Director @ Cataxis
They will be joined by Giorgio Catania, Founder of Excaliber and creator of the Indie Assemble initiative.
The Jury will evaluate the submitted games based on specific criteria, with a particular focus on originality, artistic value, and geographical diversity. The final list of selected titles will be shared with the chosen studios by August 11th, 2025.
During the promotion, two special recognitions will also be assigned:
- the Jury Choice, awarded to the title most appreciated by the Jury,
- the Brightest Star, voted by the public from a shortlist of finalists selected by the Jury.
Both winning games will gain guaranteed access to the Shining Stars section of the next two editions of Indie Assemble, ensuring maximum visibility on Steam – with a direct impact on wishlists and sales.
To conclude this round of announcements, Excaliber also unveils the official new key art for The 123 Stars, which pays homage to the visual identity of the previous edition while refreshing its style with a… stellar touch!
