The Italian Video Games Database (IVGD), created by Excaliber, is the most complete and in-depth resource on the Italian video game industry. Thanks to its pixel art interactive map, the directory of studios, and the database of titles developed in the country, it offers a broad and up-to-date overview of the gaming landscape of the Bel Paese.
Using it is simple, both on desktop and on mobile.
Map: by exploring the map of Italy, you can click on the regions to activate territorial filters, which apply both to the studio directory and to the video game database.
Directory: a list of development studios operating in Italy. You can manually activate filters by region. For each studio, the official website and the titles developed are available, which can be displayed by enabling the corresponding filter in the database.
Database: it contains entries with details of over 250 titles developed by Italian studios. It is easy to navigate and highly customizable: you can apply filters by genre, platform, development status, or release year, as well as by studio and region. You can choose the number of columns (on desktop), hide interactive tags, and locally save your favorite video games. In addition, each title features both a button linking to a website with more information and a button directing to a store where the game can be purchased – when possible, the reference store is Steam.
Warning: the database is constantly being refined. Excaliber is aware that data from some studios or entries for certain titles may be missing, as well as the presence of minor inaccuracies or small bugs.
To report corrections on existing entries, you can contact Giorgio Catania, Founder of Excaliber and creator of the IVGD. To request the addition of a new title, you can fill out the form available at the link below.
