2026 will be a special year for Lucca Comics & Games, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary from October 28 to November 1, reaffirming its position as one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to comics, animation, games, video games, and pop culture.
For this special edition, titled Legacy to celebrate the long history of the event and the heritage passed on to new generations, Lucca Comics & Games will host Indie Vault, an area dedicated to independent video game productions.
Organized by Lucca Comics & Games and Excaliber, under the direction of Giorgio Catania and Filippo Cosentino, Indie Vault will take place at the historic Palazzo Guinigi, in the heart of Lucca and of the event itself. For Excaliber, this represents an important opportunity to bring its work in support of the indie scene to one of the most prestigious and widely attended events on the international stage.
How can you take part in Indie Vault? Starting today, indie developers can submit their games for the opportunity to showcase them to an audience of over 280,000 visitors, as well as to professionals and industry representatives from across the entertainment sector.
Applications will remain open until September 15, 2026. A jury of industry professionals will select the projects that will take part in Indie Vault, with access to exhibition spaces at special rates for all five days of the event. The selection results will be announced by September 30, 2026.
